Maurice Pernot Autograph Manuscript Signed – Incredible Content About Gandhi #Mypersonalcollection #AnirudhSethi

Autograph manuscript in French, signed “Maurice Pernot” seven pages, 8.25 x 10.5, circa 1930. An untranslated article entitled “Gandhi, l’Inde et l’Empire,” discussing Mohandas Gandhi’s non-violent protest against the salt tax with the Salt March, the social condition of the ‘untouchables’ and women in India, English fabrics, and global opinion. In small part (translated):

Why did he choose his choice of Ahimsa (non-violence)? It is because he took as his starting point, not an abstract idea, but a present reality, India with its diverse peoples, its religious beliefs, its social traditions, India with its virtues and with its faults…He is still an active and a realist. inspires, it is on reality that it is based…The result? No one would dare to predict its importance…The logical solution of the Indian problem—as of all colonial problems—should undoubtedly be sought in a formula of political and economic association.

US administration is suspicious of China nuclear weapon tests – may do so too

A US media report that the Trump administration has discussed conducting a US nuclear test.

Citing a senior administration official and two former officials familiar with the deliberations for the info:
  • The matter came up at a meeting of senior officials representing the top national security agencies May 15, following accusations from administration officials that Russia and China are conducting low-yield nuclear tests – an assertion that has not been substantiated by publicly available evidence and that both countries have denied.
  • US has not decided to conduct a test, but a senior administration official said the proposal is “very much an ongoing conversation”

Another hint to issues between the US and China. Add this to the list of trade tensions, HK tensions, coronavirus blame game.

Unpublished US data from the White House shows coronavirus infections spiking across the US

US media (NBC news) reporting on data undisclosed by the Trump administration

  • Coronavirus infection rates are spiking to new highs in several metropolitan areas and smaller communities
  • data in a May 7 coronavirus task force report, undisclosed by the adminstration
  • The 10 top areas recorded surges of 72.4 percent or greater over a seven-day period compared to the previous week, according to a set of tables produced for the task force by its data and analytics unit. They include Nashville, Tennessee; Des Moines, Iowa; Amarillo, Texas; and – atop the list, with a 650 percent increase – Central City, Kentucky.
Trump’s said on Monday that “all throughout the country, the numbers are coming down rapidly.” Even without this disclosure of the secret data hoard that claim is obvious bullshit.
WH death toll projections are rapidly moving toward realisation:

Saudi Aramco oil sites hit by drones, disrupting production

Drones launched by Yemen’s Houthi rebels hit two oil production facilities in Saudi Arabia Saturday, sparking huge fires that threatened global energy supply.

The Interior Ministry confirmed attacks in a statement carried by state-run Saudi Press Agency. The Iranian-backed Houthis claimed credit, saying 10 drones were used in the assault.

The attack sites are home to one of the world’s largest oil processing facilities and a major oil field, likely disrupting the kingdom’s oil production. The attacks are also likely to exacerbate tensions in the Persian Gulf amid the confrontation between the U.S. and Iran over a crippled nuclear deal.

U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman after the attacks, the White House said, adding it was committed to keeping oil markets well supplied.

“The United States strongly condemns today’s attack on critical energy infrastructure,” White House spokesman Judd Deere said. “Violent actions against civilian areas and infrastructure vital to the global economy only deepen conflict and mistrust.”

Secretary of State Michael Pompo blamed Iran for the attacks, saying there is no evidence that the attacks came from Yemen. Iran launched an “unprecedented attack on the world’s energy supply,” Pompeo said on Twitter

The coordinated strikes targeted two facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. The fires have already been put out, the Interior Ministry said.

The Wall Street Journal cited sources saying Saudi Arabia, the world’s top oil exporter, shut down about half its oil output after the attacks, resulting in a reduction of 5 million barrels a day, or roughly 5% of the world’s daily production.

Saturday’s attacks represent some of the largest launched by the Houthis, who have been targeting Saudi Arabia’s gas facilities, pipelines and tankers. A Saudi-led coalition of Sunni Muslim countries has been fighting the Houthis in Yemen since 2015 in what is widely seen as a proxy war with Shiite rival Iran.

The coalition launched airstrikes against a Houthi camp in Yemen on Saturday, according to Reuters.

Trump has hinted at the possibility of meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly meeting later this month. But the latest attacks would likely dim the prospects for reducing tensions in the region.

How The World Really Works – Video

Renegade Economist’s “Four Horsemen” documentary lifts the lid on how the world really works. “Four Horsemen is a breathtakingly composed jeremiad against the folly of Neo-classical economics and the threats it represents to all we should hold dear.” Free from mainstream media propaganda — the film doesn’t bash bankers, criticize politicians or get involved in conspiracy theories. It ignites the debate about how to usher a new economic paradigm into the world which would dramatically improve the quality of life for billions. Since it is becoming abundantly clear that we will never return to ‘business as usual’, 23 international thinkers, government advisers and Wall Street money-men break their silence and explain how to establish a moral and just society.

Russia Test-Fires Intercontinental Missile From Submarine

Russia test-fired a Sineva intercontinental missile from a submerged submarine in the Barents Sea on Wednesday as part of a check on the reliability of the navy’s strategic forces, the Defense Ministry said.

The liquid-fueled missile, which can carry nuclear warheads, was fired from the Tula submarine to the Kura Test Range in the far eastern region of Kamchatka, the state-run RIA news agency quoted the ministry as saying. It gave no other details.

The Sineva, which has a range of about 12,000 km (7,500 miles), entered service in 2007 and is part of efforts to prevent the weakening of Russia’s nuclear deterrent.

President Vladimir Putin has underlined the importance of the nuclear deterrent during the standoff with the West over the crisis in Ukraine, and Russia has held several military exercises during the crisis that have alarmed Western powers.

Visualizing The World's Greatest Fears

What are the greatest fears by country? Throughout the world, people are concerned about very different things – from inequality to AIDS and from nuclear war to religious hatred…

By region, North Americans and Europeans are generally most fearful of inequality. However, each other region had their own number one perceived fear. Africans, not surprisingly, were most afraid of AIDS and other diseases. South Americans were most afraid of nuclear warfare and Asians were most afraid of pollution and environmental concerns. Lastly, people in the Middle East were most concerned about religious and ethnic hatred.

Culture and history also makes the fears of specific countries to be more heightened. More than half of Lebanese people (58%) fear religious and ethnic hatred the most. 49% of Japanese people most fear nuclear weapons. In Spain, where 51.4% of youth are unemployed, it is not surprising that 54% of Spanish people fear inequality the most. Spain is also where the fear of inequality has grown the fastest – it has increased 27% in the last seven years.  (more…)

What You Can and Cannot Control In Trading

-You can control how much money you put behind the idea.

-You can control which markets you trade in.

-You can control how much you are willing to risk per trade barring any gap downs, or halt situations that might impact you negatively.

-You can control what type of set ups you buy.

-You can control when you get in or out, barring a halt.

-You can’t control the outcome of the trade.

-You can’t control how the market will react to news, try not to impose your views too much.

The point is not to fret over what you can’t control, once you put the trade in along with your stop for the most part everything else is out of your control.
