  • The gains today erased the losses (and then some) from yesterday. Yesterday the S&P fell -1.4%. The NASDAQ index fell -1.57% and the Dow industrial average fell by -1.34%.

Airline stocks were big winners today:

Dow industrial average leads the way

the S&P and NASDAQ index both closed at record levels, but for the day the Dow industrial average was the biggest percentage gainer.

  • Dow industrial average rose 190.84 points or 0.69% at 27930.53
