The Dimensions of Life

As humans, we are all going to die one day. Death is inevitable, but death in itself is not what measures the person that you are. It is not the amount of time you spend on this earth that will be judged, but the impact that you had on others.

Life is short, so do everything you can to better the quality of your life, for that is what will have more of a lasting impression than a longer life. Here is a quote from Shira Tehrani:

“You can’t do anything about the length of your life, but you can do something about its width and depth.”

Two Equations that Lead to Wealth

TWO-EQUATIONYep, that’s it. It seems pretty simple, doesn’t it? In fact, these seem to be “common sense.” But remember that these are two equations that 70% of Americans can’t get right.P

If you look at these equations, you’ll see that all efforts to improve your finances come down to two things: increasing your income or decreasing your expenses. The more you do of each of these, the better. Of course, there are a few more details to fill in the gaps. You need to understand the basic definitions of each term above and know the steps to take to ensure your success in each area. I’ll be talking about these as well as sharing ideas to make the most of them as time goes on, but for now, here’s a quick overview of each one.P

Income

You need at least a minimum level of earnings just to survive. Any amount above that qualifies you as a person who can build wealth. And since the minimum in America isn’t that high compared to what people earn (average household income is around $50,000, and you can start building wealth well below that level), almost everyone qualifies.P

Your career is where most people get the vast majority of their income. As such, we’ll spend a lot of time here talking about how to manage and grow your career so you can maximize your earning potential. The bottom line: even a small change for the better can mean hundreds of thousands in extra income over a lifetime.

In addition to your job, there are a whole host of ways you can earn extra money these days. If you’re industrious enough, the money you make on the side can be quite substantial.P

SpendingP

No matter what you earn—whether it’s $30,000 or $1 million a year—you must keep your expenses below your income. You MUST spend less than you earn. If you don’t, you will go backwards financially.P

Mera Bharat Mahan !

-According to a new Oxford University study, 55 percent of India’s population of 1.1 billion, or 645 million people, are living in poverty. Using a newly-developed index, the study found that about one-third of the world’s poor live in India.

-As measured by the new index, half of the world’s poor are in South Asia (51 percent or 844 million people) and one quarter in Africa (28 per cent or 458 million). While poverty in Africa is often highlighted, the Oxford research found that there was more acute poverty in India than many African countries combined. Poverty in eight Indian states—Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal—exceeded that of the 26 poorest African countries.

The study examined poverty across 28 Indian states, concluding that “81 percent of people are multidimensionally poor in Bihar—more than any other state. Also, poverty in Bihar and Jharkand is most intense—poor people are deprived in 60 percent of the MPI’s weighted indicators. Uttar Pradesh is the home of largest number of poor people—21 percent of India’s poor people live there. West Bengal is home to the third largest number of poor people.”

-Only 31 percent of India’s population had access to improved sanitation in 2008.

Another study that used a household income of $US2 a day as the poverty benchmark found that India not only has more poor people than sub-Saharan Africa, but also has a higher level of poverty. In India, 75.6 percent of the population, or 828 million people, live below the poverty line as compared to 72.2 percent, or 551 million people in sub-Saharan Africa.

In the 1950’s modern bread used to cost 10 paise, 1971 – 75 paise, 1980 – Rs 1.0, Today – Rs 16. All thanks to uninterrupted deficit budgeting . The definition of poverty line is something like Rs 3500 per YEAR and 27% of the population is below it. If you take the poverty line to be something to be more realistic like Rs 3500 per MONTH – you would have 70% of our population below the poverty line.

Read Crush It! In A Couple Of Hours. Great Book.

I have read “Crush It!: Why Now is the Time to Cash in on Your Passion” yesterday night before going to bed in a couple of hours. I read the full 142 pages without stopping even for a glass of water. Its a pretty amazing book and I connect to Gary Vaynerchuck in many aspects. I am living the life he describes in his book. I am having the time of my life,I love what I do so much that it does not even fell like work to me. I am passionate about it, and I would work even longer hours if I could.
